Electronic Arts has confirmed that switching out PC parts too often within a 24 hour period will lock you out of games on its Origin service.
The issue surfaced via Guru 3D's Hilbert Hagedoorn, who in benchmarking different graphic cards within a short space of time in order to test out Battlefield Hardline's graphic performance was soon locked out of the game. When the problem was raised with EA, the firm made the following statement:
"Origin authentication allows players to install a game on up to five different PCs every 24 hours. Players looking to benchmark more than five hardware configurations in one 24 hour period can contact our Customer Support team who can help."
This naturally won't affect more than a small number of users, but if you are looking to test out different PC components with Origin games be sure to keep it in mind.
