Yesterday we covered the news story of Keiji Inafune teasing a new project called RED ASH. Today RED ASH has been confirmed to be a game and Inafune has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the title.
Unlike Mighty No.9, which is a spiritual successor to Mega Man, this game is a spiritual successor to Mega Man Legends.
The team for this project includes Art Director Kazushi Ito (Mega Man Legends, Ape Escape 3), Game Director Masahiro Yasuma (Mega Man Legends, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne), Lead Background Artist Miki Kijima (Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Battle Network), and Composer Manami Matsumae (Mega Man, Shovel Knight).
The RED ASH Kickstarter needs to raise $800,000 to be successful (it's currently at $35,000+). This will fund the first three episodes of the game.
The team aims to release the game on PC (later stretch goals should include console ports) in the summer of 2017.
