Yo-kai Watch Busters Dominates the Japanese Charts

New life was brought to the Japanese charts this week thanks to four new handheld releases.

According to Media Create, Yo-kai Watch Busters: Red Cat Team/White Dog Squad (3DS) took first place. The game debuted with 693,538 units sold between the two versions of the game.

Second place went to the newest Phoenix Wright game, The Great Ace Attorney (3DS), which sold 135,690 units in its debut week. The newest Taiko entry, Taiko Drum Master: V Version (Vita), took third place with 46,101 units sold in its first week on the market.


Fourth place went to last week’s champion, Fire Emblem Fates (3DS), which sold 29,682 units this week. Finally, in fifth place is everyone’s favorite squid/kid game Splatoon (Wii U), which sold 26,136 units.

The only other new entry in the chart was Chou Tousouchuu Atsumare! Saikyou no Tousou Monotachi (3DS), which took 7th place with 13,571 units sold in its first week.

The 3DS family sold 28,703 units this week, which represents a modest 1,500 unit bump compared to last week. The PS4 sold 15,779 units this week, dropping by a little over 2,000 units.

Finally, the Vita sold 14,245 units, the Wii U sold 10,789 units, the PS3 sold 2,979 units, and the Xbox One sold just 149 units.
