World of Tanks developer Wargaming has opened up a new division called WG Cells. The division will focus on mobile game publishing and development.
The new division will include two new studios that are based in Seattle and Kiev. They will be led by Wargaming’s Marat Karpeko and former DropForge Games CEO David Bluhm.
"Wargaming is committed to developing a strong mobile gaming business as one of our major pillars of our corporate strategy," said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi. "We understand that the mobile market is massive and has even greater potential. WG Cells allows us to take advantage of this market, provide great games and expand our product scope."
RPG Loot & Legends, shooter Fantastic Plastic Squad, and RPG Smash Squad are games that have already been released under the WG Cells label.
The push into mobile gaming follows on from the success of World of Tanks Blitz, which has been downloaded more than 35 million times.
