After the number of leaks that Ubisoft has head concerning Assassin's Creed IV in the past few days, you'd think that they'd have their lid on tight at least until March 4th when they were set to officially reveal the game. However, due to a recent error on the announcement site, we were left with a page confirming that the game would be releasing on October 29th for next gen consoles. It should be noted that this was plural which means that we aren't talking just about the Wii U.
The game is rumored to take place in the Caribbean around 1715 with a new assassin, Edward Kenway. Edward Kenway has been described as at least a part time Pirate so Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is expected to heavily involve the sea faring missions featured in Assassin's Creed III. Edward Kenway is the grandfather of Connor Kenway from Assassin's Creed III which begs the question of who is filling Desmond's shoes. Since he's not returning, it will have to be a descendant that shares his ancestry at least in some part.
Be sure to check back on Gamewise on March 4th for more news on Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Jarrod GarripoliWell, PS1 was released in the US in September, the PS2 in October, and the PS3 in November. With that pattern, the PS4 will release in December. -
Brandon FuscoI'm expecting it in November myself. When was the last time a console DIDN'T launch in November? But Sony is well aware of what happens when you launch second so they may wait for Microsoft to announce a Launch Date before telling everyone "Surprise! It's coming in October!" -
