    You get four free workers -- three originally when starting the game and the 4th from the spider web after clearing parts of the island. The 5th worker is earned by completing the Island arch quest started in October 2016. Any other workers, you will need to purchase at $2.99 per worker. They stay on your island forever after purchasing.
