Avalanche Studios' upcoming open-world take on Mad Max was one of the suprise announcements of this year's E3, but when seeing the game in action, many journalists noted a surprising lack of Australian accent for the titular hero. The Mad Max film trilogy, starring Australian-native Mel Gibson, was entirely filmed in Australia and is one of the staples of Australian pop-culture. To see this iconic hero sporting a generic, gruff Australian accent was disappointing to many.
Well, they can put their disappointment at rest, as Avalanche Studios has announced that Mad Max's will now, indeed, be Australian. In a statement from his Twitter account, head of Avalanche Christopher Sundberg made this announcement:
Attn. fans who want Max to have an Aussie accent in #MadMaxGame : It shall be so. We admire your loyalty. You have been heard.

So, there you have it. An awesome-looking game is now even more awesome thanks to developers who actually listen to their fans. How about that.
