As you may have heard, the Xbox one has faced criticism over the power of its GPU with games like Tomb Raider Definitive Edition running under 30fps along with some other titles. The Xbox one has just all round struggled to maintain a healthy frame rate and/or resolution while the PS4 struts its 60fps with absolute ease.
However, Microsoft are preparing a patch that will help its cause. Currently, the Kinect sensor holds a required 10% of the GPUs overall power, 8% going towards visual and 2% given to voice commands. When the new patch hits, Microsoft aim to reduce the percentage dedicated to Kinect in order to help boosts the performance of the consoles games.
While this will help steady the frame rate to about 30fps and prevent dips to lower frame rates it seems unlikely that this patch will help the Xbox One join the PS4 up into the realms of silky smooth 60fps. But at least it's something, right?
