Microsoft have shown off the power of the cloud in a recent live stream. We've heard them brag about how great it'll be for gaming since the Xbox One's reveal, but until now we haven't really seen much of anything to back that assertion up.
"What we really think is that the power of the cloud enables new kinds of experiences that have never been possible. Even if we had multiple high end machines, they couldn’t do the kind of bandwidth that we’re doing."
The use of the Cloud is shown in the above video in a very clear way - we see them blow up a building in a game, it smashes into around 35,000 pieces, and we see the framerate plummet. Then they do it again, this time powered with the Cloud; 35,000 pieces of debris land, but the framerate sticks at 32FPS.
