Nordic Games, the publishers behind Alan Wake (PC) and Painkiller, amongst other titles, have announced that they have acquired the THQ name, and will publish games under it.
General Manager Klemens Kruezer explained that many industry veterans and players were surprised when Nordic Games won the auctions for many of THQ's previous IPs, like the Darksiders series. He says that having THQ's name will motivate them, and puts huge pressure on them:
"The expectations from outside regarding the IPs of THQ are really high. We see it everyday on our Facebook sites. If we post something new to a project the first comments are, ‘Oh, nice. But what about Darksiders 3?’
Nordic Games have said they'll have more announcements at this year's Gamescom Convention in August.
