Sims 4 to Ship Without Certain Gameplay Features

The Sims 4, the upcoming entry in the long-running simulation franchise, will be shipping without the ability to build pools and without the toddler stage of life, EA Maxis have confirmed in a recent statement.

Ryan Vaughan, a producer for the game, stated that: "It's not possible for us to include every single feature and piece of content we added to The Sims 3 over the last five years."

EA Maxis expected that this would be upsetting for fans of the series, and have said that they'll continue to support the game for many years to come:

"While we recognize that some of you will be disappointed that pools and toddlers won't be available when The Sims 4 Base Game launches in September, you should know that we're building an incredibly strong foundation that is capable of fulfilling every one of your desires in the years to come"
