Anarchy Reigns is an "online multiplayer brawler" that was developed by Platinum Games and published by Sega. It was first released in Japan, under the name Max Anarchy, on July 5, 2012. It was first revealed by Sega on Twitter to be released in North America and Europe in March of 2013, but later moved up to January 8, 2012 in North America and January 11 in Europe.

Story
It is the future and the world is in chaos. Battles between nations for resources have escalated into wars, complete with the most dangerous weapons being used. Terrorism is also on the rise, making peace and safety a thing of the past. New diseases that are completely unknown are born. Humankind survived thanks to nano machines and cybernetic development.
Controls
One of the biggest things about any game that centers on fighting is the controls. Since the game is available for both the Playstation 3 and XBox 360, the controls will be listed in the following sections.
Gameplay
Anarchy Reigns is considered a multiplayer online brawler at heart, where the main goal is to punch and kill anything in your way. While that's the basic premise, there are other gameplay elements in the game.

Game Modes
Although Anarchy Reigns is described as an online multiplayer brawler, it does offer other modes for players, including a single player campaign, as well as a slew of multiplayer options. There is also a Practice mode to get used to the controls, as well as a Simulator, giving the feel of multiplayer without being online.

The draw of any kind of fighting-style game is the characters, and Anarchy Reigns features a cast of 14 playable characters, which can either be unlocked by playing through the campaigns, or unlocked by playing the Multiplayer.

Multiplayer
The Multiplayer is the biggest mode for Anarchy Reigns, with it containing 11 different modes right out of the box (2 extra with the preorder DLC). Individual modes involve only you against everyone else, while Teamplay puts you on a team to fight against other teams.
Preorder Bonus
The only preorder bonus for Anarchy Reigns is through Gamestop. For preordering the game at that retail chain, players will get Bayonetta as a playable character, as well two multiplayer modes. The two multiplayer modes are only available through preordering, and they are Mad Survival and Dog Fight.
